Renovating Kitula Primary School Project

Education: Children equipped with life skill-sets and knowledge are capable of building themselves and their communities.

Kitula Primary is located in Vyulya location – Machakos County, Kenya.     This school has great success potential however, their performance has continues to drop, jeopardizing children’s opportunity to attain their educational potential. After a need analysis by Elevate A Child A Child team and the Kitula Primary School board of governors, some of the factors affecting student performance include :-

  • The classrooms are dilapidated with potholes on the floors, walls with cracks, graffiti and stains all around.
  • The chalkboards are damaged – faded and cracked.
  • The veranda to classrooms is not paved thus muddy or dusty depending on the weather.


  • The staff room is substandard with cracked floors, no personal desks, lockers or shelves for teachers to store their teaching items.
  • The school compound is much slanted and not equipped.

Elevate A Child Africa believe that children should not be victims of their circumstances and that all children should have a right to quality education, a congenial living environment and an opportunity to a bright future. Renovating Kitula Primary School will help us to realize an environment that is positive, comfortable and conducive to learning.  This will pave a way to transform children into educated, confident, responsible and self-reliant employable citizens of the country with a deep sense of commitment to the society. .
