Mulei comes from a family of six. He is the third born and first one in the family to join high school. His elder sibling dropped out of school due to luck of school fees. He lives with his mum and dad who are casual laborers and farmers in the village and their income cannot support his high school education. He is currently (2019) a form one(1st year) in a great school and aspires to be an engineer. While away from school, Mulei enjoys helping his parents to weed and irrigate their small vegetable farm.
